Changes Underway at LRPC

As everyone knows, electronic health records are maintained in most medical practices these days.  In 2009, LRPC converted most of the records of our active patients to an electronic format.  For many patients, that was their first experience with an electronic health record (EHR) and the patient portal that followed.  Over the years our system has been updated countless times to meet governmental requirements and improve the user’s experience.

Fast forward to 2023…We are excited to announce that we will be migrating over to a completely new computer system in early October.  Between now and then, our staff will be setting up the structure of the new EHR and undergoing extensive training.  Our new system is a pediatric-specific system that we feel will improve the documentation in our patients’ records and make information more accessible.

What will change for our patients?

Current caregivers will need to register for the new patient portal.  We realize many of you have been on our portal since its inception.  However, the current portal will not be connected to the new system and will be dismantled in early  October.

Paper statements will be mailed out as usual. However, there will be an option to sign up for electronic statements, which will also include a link to make a payment. We encourage everyone to opt in to e-statements.

CHADIS screening tools will be integrated in our system and delivered to caregivers via the patient portal. Our expectation is that parents completing developmental surveys and ADHD questionnaires will no longer need to log in to CHADIS. We will have more specific details on this process later.

Caregivers will have access to visit notes and health education materials as they are pushed to the portal and available 24/7. Account holders will still be able to request a refill, manage appointments, message providers and view lab results.

What can our patients do to help?

Make sure your child’s account is current and that all payments are up to date. Anyone with a balance in our current system will continue to get a statement from that system. Should charges be incurred in the new system, you will most likely receive two statements until the older balance is paid. If you would like to check your child’s balance or make a payment, call 501-664-4044. option 3. You may also pay online here.

Once we are live with the new system, it is important to register on the new portal with a current email address. This is how you will access screenings, surveys, and other information needed to manage your child’s care. To update your email address, message us via the online contact form.

Finally, we ask for your patience as we make this transition. We will be closed on Saturday, October 7, for the actual conversion and will have reduced schedules the 2 days prior to prepare. We expect to have a reduced schedule the week of October 9 to allow extra time for our staff and providers to work with the new system alongside our trainers.

As with anything, transition is challenging. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we move through this process.
