How do I establish care for my newborn with LRPC?

Let the hospital know which clinic you plan to use when you go in for the delivery.  If the baby is delivered at Baptist in Little Rock, one of our doctors will see the baby there.  If you deliver elsewhere, just make an appointment 1-2 days after discharge or whenever the discharging doctor recommends.  Once the appointment is made, you will receive an email and/or text with a link to complete the new patient registration.

What if my new baby isn’t yet covered by my health insurance?

Most insurance plans allow 30 days to have your new baby added to your policy. If you fail to add your baby during this time, you will be responsible for all charges and may not be able to add them until open enrollment. The plan administrator or HR department can advise you on this. You may also contact your insurance company directly.

What if my new baby will be covered by ArKids or Medicaid?

It is critical that you keep up with your child’s Arkids enrollment requirements. Medicaid requires a number of forms and other documents for approval. We encourage you to stay in touch with your caseworker throughout the enrollment period, as well as during re-enrollment when your baby turns 1. Failure to re-enroll will result in a lapse in coverage where you will be held responsible for all charges. You may also contact our billing office for assistance with this process.

Are you accepting new patients?

Yes, we are accepting new patients under the age of 16.

What is your immunization policy?

We are strong proponents of all children being vaccinated unless there is a legitimate medical reason not to.  We follow all CDC guidelines, as well as policies from the American Academy of Pediatrics concerning childhood immunizations.  If you have concerns about vaccines, please discuss with one of our providers during an office visit.  If you decide to opt out of vaccines for your child, you will be required to sign a Vaccine Refusal Form

How do I reach you after office hours?

If you feel your child needs medical attention outside normal clinic hours, you may call our answering service at 501-377-1113. We are also affiliated with Kid’s Care, a telephone service staffed by registered nurses at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Your initial call may be returned by an RN, but if contact with a physician is warranted, or if you prefer to speak with a physician, the nurse will relay the message to our physician on call.

How do I get a copy of my child’s shot record?

We have access to the Arkansas Department of Health’s immunization registry and can provide an official shot record upon request.  Call the office and ask for medical records or reach out to us via the patient portal.  We can mail you a printed copy or email you an electronic copy, whichever you prefer.

Do you take walk-ins?

In general, we do not take walk-ins. However, we have a good number of sick appointments available each day. Please call the office as soon as possible if your child needs to be seen. This will help avoid a long wait time and ensure that your child will be seen.

How do I complete new patient paperwork?

We have a paperless registration system powered by Phreesia, a software that allows you to enter all information prior to the appointment through a link sent via secure text or email.  This system also verifies your child’s insurance and allows you to pay your copay and any other balances due—prior to arriving at the clinic.  We also have tablets available at the reception desk if needed.  You will receive a shorter version of the registration packet at each visit, as well as a link to a developmental screening tool at each well visit.

If my child has ArKids or Medicaid, how do I change their PCP?

You must contact ConnectCare at 1-800-275-1131 to assign or change your child’s PCP. You can also use the ConnectCare website, but we have found the phone system to be more efficient. Call our office if you need assistance or have questions about this process.

How do I apply for SNAP benefits?

Go to the SNAP website to apply.  Instructions are in England and Spanish.

How do I know which formulas are covered by WIC?

You can check the Arkansas Department of Health website for a current list. Some of the special formulas require a specific diagnosis and a physician’s order.  Call our office if you need assistance with a WIC prescription.
